In this series identity is approached as part of a collective. Society contributes to the formation of a group identity, an important part of one's own identity. It transmits values, political and religious beliefs, stereotyped ways of thinking, which decisively influence the way of interrelation with the group, and the choice of this. In the photographs, boxes are used as a symbol of individuality and interrelation between people. The series proposes questions, poses open questions as a starting point to start thinking.

"Artificial Selection" , the title refers to the intervention of man in nature. This has been influencing its development. Selection has long ceased to be natural. Thinking about the ethics of genetic manipulation is also invited

.

"Incubadas I and II" inquires about the internal emptying. From the media, information and power, we are led to a collective thought that tames and equalizes behaviors, that files discrepancies and ideas of our own. This photograph proposes that cloning is now social.

.

“Los no places” is inspired by the thesis of the anthropologist Marc Augé. These public places described by Augé were places of passage, places without their own identity. The photographic work proposes that, in our days, "non-places" have already conquered the realm of the particular, that individual, proper and subjective space, transforming it into someone else's. And this, unfortunately, dehumanizes the individual, helping to create dangerously uncritical societies.

"Superstitiô y Cupiditas" , inspired by the thesis of the philosopher Baruk Spinoza. In "superstitiô" the issue of beliefs, both political and religious, is addressed. He thought that individuals had a kind of network (superstition) that caused the need to believe. Only knowledge gave us a power of choice, essential to exercise freedom. He also argued that despite believing ourselves to be rational beings, in our decisions and actions of life, we were prisoners of our desires ( "cupidites" ).

.

"Time is the evil" , (the title refers to the poem by Ezra Pound) photography of more literal symbolism. Slavery to time, time is evil. Plato's "Theaetetus" speaks of people who exchange wisdom in concerted time, referring here to the sophists, enemies, according to him, of the philosophers, who on the other hand did not limit and sell their teachings. I therefore thought that it was not for free or wise men to sell time.

.

"Modern Times" speaks of the societies that we are creating, increasingly cold and distant with the essence of human beings.

For “Collective Series” , I used boxes and plastic as if they were placentas. By using photographs and video, I saw how important movement was to understand this series. If it moved faster, it caused an almost instinctive rejection in the observer, as a perverse game to (re) convert the human. ( "selective breeding" )

"Non-Places"

"Non-Places" was based on the thesis of the anthropologist Marc Augé. I have described public places as transit areas without identity. This photographic work shows that non-places have already conquered our own private and subjective sphere, turning it into an alien individual. Unfortunately, this is emptying and dehumanizing us and it is also helping to create dangerous acritical societies.

.

In "Incubated", I explore the inner emptiness of the individual. We are induced to a collective thinking from different media that appeases and equalizes our behavior. It smooths over our differences and our own ideas. Cloning is now a social matter.

.

Social problems are also discussed in the study of Baruk Spinosa. "Superstitio" deals with both political and religious issues. He thought that there was some kind of net (superstition) inside us that made us believe in incredible things, such as religion or politics. Only knowledge gave us the power of choice, essential to exercise our freedom. Although we consider ourselves rational beings, I have claimed we lived prisoners of our desire ( "Cupiditas" ) which affected all our choices. These ideas seem so obvious to us now, but not in the 17th century.

.

"Time is the Evil" (the title refers to a poem of Ezra Pound) is a photograph charged of symbolism. Slaves of time, time is the evil. In "Theaetetus", Plato speaks about people who exchanged wisdom by prior arrangement. He mentions the Sophists who sold their teachings. According to him, they were the enemies of philosophers. I thought it was not wise to sell time.
